‘Break a Leg’
“Big (Castlemead) Dave is about to be one of an amateur dramatic group, putting on a play about an amateur dramatic group, putting on a play called, A Christmas Carol (Scrooge and all), at The Court Theatre, Station Road, Tring, between 4-7th December. All players assume about 6 different characters with varying degrees of success. There is much chaos and a degree of cross dressing (but no lycra!), so if this kind of theatrical pre-pantomime pantomime is your thing (and why would it not be?), we would love you to support our little play in your lovely local venue. I thank you”
Contact Dave direct to reserve your tickets in person, 07973 411176, or go online at http://www.courttheatre.co.uk/
He’d love to see you at The Court 🙂
As usual we meet at The Rose and Crown tomorrow at 0945 for a 1000 start. Thank you to the Dave’s (Howe and Bembridge) for rides offered up and another Dave (Mander) for the inspiration for tomorrow’s little 36 mile jaunt around Hemel to places many of us have never ventured.
Saturday 10am Tea Ride
Meet at the Rose and Crown for cycling, tea and cake. Every Saturday. Whatever the weather- but it’s mostly sunny.
Mudguards
It’s that time of year again, the roads are dirty and bikes and riders come home covered in muck. Protect yourself, your bike, and most importantly your fellow riders by fitting mudguards. If you enjoy riding in a group it is important to have mudguards.
These are very easy to fit and also very easy to remove again in spring so no excuses: http://www.crudproducts.com/products/roadracer
There is even a video to show you how to fit them. Then come out and enjoy some winter cycling!
Velos Ride for Sunday 17th November 2013
Well done to everyone who made it out last Sunday and joined the remembrance service. It was a great turnout.
The route for this Sunday is courtesy of Mr Bembridge. As always, we meet from 9:45am with a view to depart at 10am.
Be safe.
Dressing for the Occasion
There’s no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing.
So no excuses. Pudsey Pyjamas, Onesies, Waterproofs, Wellies – just wrap up and get out on your bike, trike, tandem, recumbent, unicyle….. All steeds & handlers are welcome on the Tea Ride!
And on the subject of clothing… We have some secondhand, official Velos cycling shirts for sale – proceeds to Children in Need … a small (ladies), a medium (mens) and a 4XL (ladies – 18/20). Not sure how much difference there is in the cut of them so step up, give us a shout and give ’em a try on! (Use the Contact Us form on the website to get in touch please)
The Rose & Crown, Saturdays, 10am. Be there, or be stuck inside, knowing you could be doing something far more exciting……
Rule #4 – It’s all about the bike
Or is it?
Meeting at the Rose and Crown tomorrow at 0945 to leave at 1000 (Rule #87 applies) to enable us to make it to St Leonard’s Church where we will stop for a break to join the congregation at 1100
