Perfect riding conditions expected on Sunday, apart from the possibility of a few hangovers or late night recovery with the England V Norway world cup match potentially ending around 1am
I have canvassed opinions from those who ride early, and as absolultely expected everyone has a different idea, so I have come up with a cunning plan which aims to please everyone (you can’t please all the people all the time?)
The 9am route will leave Ivinghoe church at 9am for a 15 mile loop to Home Ground cafe where it will stop for a cuppa before setting off again at 10.30am for the rest of the ride, This means riders can join the whole ride, do their own thing and join for a coffee, or just ride to Home Ground for a 10.30 start. The ride will then head North for a further 35 miles before arriving at the Rose and Crown for a celebratory (it’s coming home) pint.
If these shenanigans are too much for you then the usual, far easier to understand, 10am and 10.30am route provided by Dave and Richard will be avaialble from the church, following on with the good cop bad/cop flat/hills routine Dave’s 10.30 ride has the least climbing this week. While Richard’s 33 miles has the most climbing per mile of the three routes.
9am It’s coming home (the ride is anyway) 50 miles, (or 35 miles from Home Ground at 10.30) https://ridewithgps.com/routes/56027477
10am https://ridewithgps.com/routes/55695722 The route heads out through Ashley Green to Flaunden before dropping to the River Chess. After passing through Chesham, there is a climb back up to St Leonards and then finally over Pitstone Hill.
