Rides for Sunday 15th April 2012

We were very pleased to see more new riders join us last week. Welcome and we look forward to cycling with you again soon.

And so, on to this week’s Sunday two-wheeled adventure. A few members have planned a pre-ride warm-up route to add a few extra fast-ish miles before the main event. They are planning to meet at Pitstone Roundabout at 9am and will welcome any members who would like to join them.

The main rides are listed below and will leave the Rose & Crown at the usual time of 10am sharp, so please aim to gather from 9:45am. Due to public demand, we have reinstated the short route.

Long Route – 25 miles

Short Route – 17 Miles

Hope you can make it on what is forecast to be a dry morning.

  1. Well whose idea was the last bit? A climb up from Aldbury? Thanks a bunch, John! Despite the breakneck pace at which we set off, it became a memorable ride. Moments of slog into the cold northerly wind were placed with tailwind rides at pace; excellent! I thoroughly enjoyed it again, esp the drop from the Beacon. Good company again; respect and regards to you all. I’ll post the route once I get home; happy days!

    1. Does it help if I say I regretted my suggestion half way up Tom’s Hill ? Thought not.
Fab ride Will. Always good to see you out with us. Look forward to seeing you riding next time. Very happy days.

  2. To all the Velos,
Been cool riding out with you guys over the last couple of weeks. Doing my bit for charity this weekend,(29th) and riding a 4 hour spinathon in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society so can’t make Sunday’s run out. Looks like you ‘re going to need some good rain gear! Enjoy the ride and see you next weekend
