We have been offered another opportunity to have a go at riding a 10 mile time trial. This one is being organised by Richard from the Bossard Wheelers who often rides with us on a Tuesday evening. Having loved the previous one I can thoroughly recommend this as a great chance to test yourself whilst trying something new. The event is on the 30th August but Richard needs to know numbers by 15th. If you are interested, please contact the Wheelers using their online contact us form making sure you mention that you are one of the Ivinghoe Velos. The entrance fee is £9 and there are prizes to be had !
Details of the course can be found in this PDF file here (from a previous event in May).
This Saturday’s tea ride will take us to Ashridge Monument where Mr Hegs will meet us – with Pimms & Cake!
It will be a gentle ride, as fast as the slowest rider, heading out via Aldbury, Dudswell, Berko and to Ashridge. As ever, all riders and bikes welcome.
See you at the Rose & Crown, 10am.
News from the Shires and further afield as well!
France, Scotland and the US of A to name just a few, we get everywhere
Congratulations to Dave Bembridge who is now more than half way through his 1500 mile challenge having drunk himself from JOG to LE raising money for Cancer Research UK!
Not long before him Martin Sisley managed to travel in the opposite direction rumour has it it is tougher that way as it’s all up hill! Again well done!
A small posse headed to the Alps to tackle several ‘hills’ well done particularly to Dave Cusick who clocked up in the region of 14000 metre (yes metres!) of climb in just 6 days of riding. This was a tremendous experience and highly recommended! If that wasn’t enough John and Jeremy have travelled over the pond to the USA for a meeting (10 day meeting, whatever!) and pedalled some miles while there! Im sure many more have been out and about so lets have your stories!
Jim’s unfortunate accident last week is a reminder to us all that
We wish Jim a speedy recovery and look forward to welcoming him back to the Peleton

Bikeability Instructors
Many will know that there are a number of qualified Instructors in our midst and work is increasing rapidly. We are looking for anyone interested in joining us to deliver cycle training, predominantly in schools, on a self employed casual basis. Training is available with some funding possible. This is ideal term time work for those with some hours to fill and are good working with children. If you are interested in learning more please contact either Dave Bembridge or Andrew Hetherington
