36 miles and flat:
 22 miles 1028 ft Climb:
Enjoy. The winds are only meant to be 4mph so should be a good day for a ride. No excuse!
As always, please bring a copy of your chosen route with you. We depart from the Rose and Crown in Ivinghoe at the times stated above.

Tea Ride: 13 Aug

I may not be with you, but rest assured, some random, cycling related fact will be there to haunt or amuse you….

In 1986, Hero Cycles produced over 18,500 cycles a day, the highest in global reckoning. With the 48% share of the Indian market, this volume catapulted Hero in the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest bicycle manufacturer in the world.

13th August is the first anniversary of the death of Om Prakash Munjal who, born in 1928, was a co-founder of Hero Cycles in 1944.  The company started out as a bicycle spare parts business.

So, as you have your Tea & Cake, bear this entrepreneur in mind and make a mental note to look after you bicycle bits and pieces as you expect your bicycle to look after you.

Assembling at the Rose & Crown for a 10am departure please….

Happy Birthday

……. to me,
Please have Cake & Tea.
I’m sorry I can’t be there…
And I can’t provide it free.

Sorry chaps, busy working this weekend so I can’t drag you all up to Ashridge with Team Hegarty for the usual Pimms & cake selection.  Hopefully we can do it another weekend instead!!

However, you are expected to assemble at the Rose & Crown to leave for 10am, nonetheless.  Have a great ride!

Tea Ride: 30 July

A number of us are off Ride London-ing on Sunday so will be taking a few hours parked on the sofa tomorrow, giving the leggies a bit of a pre-emptive rest.

The rest of you.. you are presence is anticipated at the Rose & Crown by 10am for a prompt departure.

Please remember that the Cook’s Wharf bridge is CLOSED (from 27th July to 24th August), so you cannot go between Pitstone to Cheddington – you need to go via Great Gap & Cheddington Station if you choose a route out that way….

Tea Ride: 23rd July

So.. 23rd July… Is the day before my cousin Kim’s birthday.  She doesn’t ride a bike, but does ride a horse & is therefore a friendly road user.  99.9% of you don’t know her … but she’s as batty as me and if you’re that interested you can find her on Facebook here….  Feel  free to wish her a happy birthday…

This year, July 23rd is the 113th anniversary of the first sale of a Ford motor car.

So, to celebrate both these events, we are off to the Driving Range (Ford… Driving.. it’s that tenuous I though I better point it out ….)  We highly recommend the toasted sarnies!!

On parade and assembled for the off please, by 10am on Saturday morning.
