Velos Rides for Sunday 25th January 2015

Thanks again to Mr Dave “The Cheeseman” Bembridge, we have two relatively flat routes on offer this week.

10am start, 29 mile route

10am start, 17 mile route

Our departure point will be the Rose & Crown in Ivinghoe, gathering from 9:45am onwards for a prompt 10am departure. We always welcome new members plus those who have been away for a while and fancy a spin out again.

Velos Rides for Sunday 11th January 2015

Once again Mr Dave “Pancake Flat” Bembridge has supplied us with another couple of routes for this week’s adventure on two wheels. The weather forecast is suggesting that the gale force winds of Saturday are slowing down from 50mph to a far more manageable 30mph on Sunday. This means that there is far less danger of us breaking any speed limits as we are blown back home on the 2nd half of these rides.

10am start, 21 mile shorter route

10am start, 36 mile longer route

Sunday is special day for a special lady and the Velos all wish Mary a very happy birthday.  The Birthday Tea Ride on Four Wheels to The Stag at Mentmore proved very successful!   We also wish Cornish Will all the very best in getting back on his feet (& soon wheels!) after his hip operation.

Velos Rides for Sunday 21st December 2014

First up, many thanks to Sally and Andrew for organising a fantastic Christmas Curry night at the Haldi on Friday evening. The food, drink and chatter was of a very high standard.

So on to the rides for this Sunday. After the tough hilly stuff last week, we have a much flatter selection of routes to offer you, created by the Routemaster himself, Mr Dave Bembridge. As is common with his routes now, he plans them so that the short and long ones cross over a various points.

10am start, 33 mile longer route

10am start 24 mile shorter route

We here at Velo Towers would like to wish everyone who has ridden with us this year a very Merry Christmas and a most prosperous 2015.

Velos Rides for Sunday 30th November 2014

Rides

There are three distances to choose from this week, all departing from the Rose and Crown  at 10am.

33 mile loop

25 mile loop

19 mile loop

They have all been plotted by Mr Dave “Tour de Britain” Bembridge who has cleverly engineered them such that each group will pass one of the others at some point.

As always, please bring a copy of the route with you (or memorise it if you have those sort of skills).

Bossard Wheelers Training Camp

Last week we were joined on our Sunday ride by two of the Boassard Wheelers, Richard and Trevor. They have kindly extended an invitation to one of their training camps to any of the Ivinghoe Velos who might be interested. Here is the message from Richard –

A few members of our club are going to Majorca next March for a short training camp and I was wondering if you or any of the Ivinghoe Velos would be interested in joining us. Work commitments mean that we are going out on Monday 2nd and we’re coming back on Sunday 8th March. We will be staying at the very popular Club Pollentia, which is situated between Alcudia and Port de Pollenca. Its a great location for exploring the island and the emphasis will be on longish steady rides, at a pace to suit the slowest rider. We usually venture into the hills on a couple of rides, weather permitting! We are flying from Stansted and those that are going have already booked. Booking the hotel is very straight forward using their website. I will book the coach transfer when I have a definite number of people travelling.

If you are interested, please use the contact us form on our site and we will pass your email address over to Richard.

Velos Rides for Sunday 16th November 2014
