The forecast is dry but a little bit cooler than recent rides, so it may be time to hang up those bib shorts and go for longs. Three more routes this week from Dave “Let’s go round again” Bembridge.
As usual, please bring a copy of your chosen route.
Sally:
Elka?
(Knocking: Knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, knock)
Do you wanna build a snowman?
Come on lets go and play
I never see you anymore
Come out the door
It’s like you’ve gone away-
We used to be best buddies
And now we’re not
I wish you would tell me why!-
Do you wanna build a snowman?
It doesn’t have to be a snowman.
(Knocking)
Do you wanna build a snowman?
Or ride our bikes around the halls
I think some company is overdue
I’ve started talking to
the pictures on the walls-
(Hang in there, Joan!)
It gets a little lonely
All these empty lanes,
Do you wanna come for a bike ride…? 10am from the Rose & Crown, EVERY Saturday….
Dave “The Map Master” Bembridge has again crafted three routes for us this week.
It is likely to be a bit breezy out and about tomorrow so please take extra care on the roads, especially when passing gaps in hedges.
It’s a wee bit damp and windy out there this weekend so wellies & waterproofs for a ride tomorrow!
Sadly, Sally & Elke have other commitments and it’s looking unlikely that they’ll be out to play – but don’t that let stop the rest of you!
(Wo)man up and get out there! Leaving the Rose & Crown, Ivinghoe, at 10am.
As is the norm now on remembrance Sunday, we have rides that aim to rendezvous at St Leonards Church just before 11am to join the (very welcoming) congregation for two minutes silence.
Many thanks to Dave Howe for planning the routes this week.
The 7th of November,
Cup & saucer or mug & teapot.
I know of no reason
Why Tea Riding season
Should ever be forgot.
For the record, Tea Riding season is all year round, regardless of the weather. (And whether or not there is a Tea Ride post!)
Leaving the Rose & Crown, weekly, at 10am on Saturdays.
Be there … or be a damp squib.
After the success of last years Christmas Night Out we are delighted to announce that we are returning to The Haldi (once of course he reopens following his kitchen refurbishments!
There will be an excellent set meal again offering vegetarian, pescatarian and carnivorous options. In addition to the set menu there will be popadoms and pickles served to stave off the hunger attack on arrival.
We have 40 places available on a first come first booked basis with a £10 per person (non-refundable) deposit to Sally Beezer and it would be helpful to register with Sally the number of vegetarian and pescatarian requests just to assist with the balance of the final menu. The price will be a total of £25 per head (therefore £15 payable on the night once your deposit has been paid!)
Its is proposed that those wanting ‘proper’ beer before their meal can muster in the Rose and Crown from 1900 before arriving at The Haldi at 2030 and of course the date is Friday 18th December!!
