Velos Rides for Sunday 27th September 2015
The weather forecast is lovely so why not make best use of it and join us on one of our three rides this Sunday.
9am start, 53 miles to Chinnor with a few lumpy bits on the way back
10am start, 36 mile loop around Hemel Hempstead
10am start, 20 mile flat trip to Cublington
As usual, please bring a copy of your chosen route with you. We start and finish from the Rose and Crown in Ivinghoe.
When I wake up in the morning, love

And the sunlight hurts my eyes
And something without warning, love
Bears heavy on my mind
Then I look at you*
And the world’s alright with me
Just one look at you
And I know it’s gonna be
A lovely ride
… lovely ride, lovely ride, lovely ride …
When the ride that lies ahead of me
Seems impossible to face
When someone else instead of me
Always seems to know the way**
**We always know the way. To tea and cake. No upwards incline (we never use the word hill!) is impossible for the Tea Ride – they’re carefully selected to be Tea Ride friendly.
As fast as the slowest rider, leaving the Rose & Crown at 10am, EVERY Saturday.
MUD ON A MONDAY
For those wanting a taster of something a little different …. 7pm from Pitstone roundabout (the one by the cricket green)…. the Tea Ride goes a little off-road… roads & tracks – bridle paths, canal paths and a bit of roadwork. Absolutely for the beginner or faint hearted… mountain bikes, hybrids, cyclocross, BMX’s all welcome – not one for the road bike!
Further details will be posted on the Rear Hub on Facebook ….

Velos rides for Sunday 20th September 2015
This week they’ve put me (Andy) in charge of routes and with the hill climb season almost upon us you know what that means…..
Meet at the Rose & Crown at either 8:45am or 9:45am – don’t be late!
(All routes guarantee moral improvement on completion.)
You can view routes on Strava even if you are not a member, however you can’t download the TCX and GPX unless you sign up – so I have put them in a ZIP file which you can download from:

Velos Rides for Sunday 13th September 2015
Three routes to choose from this Sunday.
9am Start, Flat 56 miles to Shabbington and back
10am Start, Lumpy 31 mile loop via Berkhamsted
10am Start, Short flat 19 miles
As always, we start from the Rose and Crown in Ivinghoe, departing at the times indicated. Please bring a copy of your chosen route with you.
It may be a wee bit damp out there….
but the Tea Ride will still be happening!
It is the annual Ride & Stride this weekend but, owing to the absence of our illustrious Churches Ride Leader (& the forecast), we haven’t put a route together an official Tea Ride route this year. If however, you would like to take part, here is the list of Participating Churches. Further info and sponsorship forms can be found on the Bike & Hike website.
For those wanting something a little more “ordinary” – if ever the Tea Ride can be called ordinary… over to your imaginations on that one….. there will be a conventional Tea Ride departing the Rose & Crown, Ivinghoe at 10am.
As fast as the slowest rider. Conventional. Never “normal”.
