Ho! Ho! Ho!

Illustration of Santa Claus seated for Christmas Dinner with empty plate and knife and fork

After the success of last years Christmas Night Out we are delighted to announce that we are returning to The Haldi (once of course he reopens following his kitchen refurbishments!

There will be an excellent set meal again offering vegetarian, pescatarian and carnivorous options. In addition to the set menu there will be popadoms and pickles served to stave off the hunger attack on arrival.

We  have 40 places available on a first come first booked basis with a £10 per person (non-refundable) deposit to Sally Beezer and it would be helpful to register with Sally the number of vegetarian and pescatarian requests just to assist with the balance of the final menu.    The price will be a total of £25 per head (therefore £15 payable on the night once your deposit has been paid!)

Its is proposed that those wanting ‘proper’ beer before their meal can muster in the Rose and Crown from 1900 before arriving at The Haldi at 2030 and of course the date is Friday 18th December!!

Saturday 10 am Tea Ride and Winter Kit order

Winter kit order is now open, due to close on 7th November. No more orders until the spring, so if you are hoping for any Velos kit for Xmas, or need some warmer Lycra to get you out this winter, now is your last chance. See the posting on the Rear Hub for details about how to order.

Tea riders, the weather is looking damp tomorrow but the tea ride continues. Meet at the pub at 10. See you there.

I’ve got a bike…

You can ride it if you like.
It’s got a basket, a bell that rings and
Things to make it look good.
I’d give it to you if I could, but I borrowed it.
You’re the kind of girl that fits in with my world.
I’ll give you anything, ev’rything if you want things.
I’ve got a cloak. It’s a bit of a joke.
There’s a tear up the front. It’s red and black.
I’ve had it for months.
If you think it could look good, then I guess it should.
You’re the kind of girl that fits in with my world.
I’ll give you anything, ev’rything if you want things.
I know a mouse, and he hasn’t got a house.
I don’t know why. I call him Gerald.
He’s getting rather old, but he’s a good mouse.
You’re the kind of girl that fits in with my world.
I’ll give you anything, ev’rything if you want things.
I’ve got a clan of gingerbread men.
Here a man, there a man, lots of gingerbread men.
Take a couple if you wish. They’re on the dish.
You’re the kind of girl that fits in with my world.
I’ll give you anything, ev’rything if you want things.
I know a room of musical tunes.
Some rhyme, some ching. Most of them are clockwork.
Let’s go into the other room and make them work.

Nothing like a bit of Pink Floyd on a Friday evening to get you in the mood……

FOR THE TEA RIDE … or course……

Leaving the Rose & Crown, Ivinghoe, 10am EVERY Saturday, come rain, shine, snow, hail, hell or high water (although you might want to bring wellies that day), whether there’s a website/facebook post or not (sorry… sometimes we’re not quite as organised as we appear to be …)

Oh! And it ain’t all girls – not by a long chalk!!

As fast as the slowest rider, always stopping for tea & cake.       #prioritiessorted
