This Sunday precedes bonfire night by a couple of days, so we will burn it down, going with three ride options. Now talking about pacing the ride, remember not to set off like a firework or you could slash n burn early. You may get to the first hill and think everything’s on fire but I’m fine but look back and see everyone’s been burned, don’t be that firestarter! . Unless you’ve got more gas than a Bunsen Burner you should sit in the pack with other riders saying we didn’t start the fire

This week it could be damp (smoke on the water?) . Maybe you could set fire to the rain? Although it’s not as if your beds are burning, still try to  get up and out and don’t leave Sunday on the funeral pyre of missed rides. Layer up, stay warm- get yourself on the saddle with great balls of fire, (or maybe you are a fire woman?). We all have a burning love for cycling so burn to Ivinghoe church for the ride start time

Post ride refreshments at the Rose and Crown, although I can’t promise a disco inferno, it’s usually a jolly atmosphere! We were not all born on 5th November but every Sunday is party time there,. Into the fire we go! I hope they have a log fire! You can’t beat that feeling when everything burns- including your tongue on those cheesy chips.

Those eagle eyed amongst you may have spotted some very subtly hidden song titles related to fire in the text. If you would like to see the full list simply comment on the facebook post how many you recognise and I’ll share the spotify playlist with you. All songs come from the popular music genre, so sorry to all the classical, jazz and country fans.

The 9am route is subject to a coffee stop discussion, options include the Smallford Farm shop at the half way point or the Fishery Wharf Cafe with 10 miles to go. Also on the 9am route there is a short section of gravel to walk over by the mill at Redborunbury and a mixed use path in St Albans as part of the ride, so please reduce speeds to the appropriate levels.

Thanks to Bob and Grant for the 10am and 10.30 suggestions, enjoy the rides!
