A wee bit blowy perchance?!
It’s been touch on the stormy side today.
Allegedly tomorrow is going to be a bit less fierce but we do recommend bringing some ballast with you to keep you line….
We leave the Rose & Crown at 10am, so please roll up ready to go (as fast as the slowest rider) by then……
Velos Rides for Sunday 24th January 2016
The forecast for Sunday is some 13 degrees higher than last week so back to our normal schedule.
As always, please bring a copy of your chosen route with you.
Ain’t nothing like the real thing ….
Last week was the practise run… this week it’s the real thing… Officially, it’s Mr B’s Birthday ride this weekend.
Somewhere pleasantly flatish… even more pleasant when we get there… and the pleasantness of the company goes without saying!!
Rolling off from the Rose & Crown at 10am, every Saturday.
Velos Rides for Sunday 17th January 2016
We are publishing a couple of routes for tomorrow, but unless there is a sudden huge change in weather we really don’t recommend going out on a road bike at all on Sunday morning. Hardy sorts might what to hop on their mountain bike and venture off road though as frozen mud is much more fun than the wet stuff.
Note : If there is a thaw by 1pm then another suggestion is that we meet at the R&C to do a road ride.
Saturday 10 am Tea Ride
Tomorrow looks cold and icy, so strictly mountain bikes and off road. It’s not suitable for a road tea ride. Wrap up warm and meet at 10 am if you have a suitable bike and warm clothing.
Velos Rides for Sunday 10th January 2016
This week’s rides have been kindly crafted by Dave “The Big Ring Only” Howe.
It’s Birthday Time!
So… either side of this weekend we have our first 2 birthday’s of the year – Happy Birthday ladies!
Mary has arranged that this weekend’s Tea Ride takes us to The Stag at Mentmore (no….not straight there, we might need to pedal a little way first). We are aiming to arrive for tea, coffee and cakes about 11.15/11.30am. Should the weather not be to your liking, then by all means drive over and meet us there.
If you would like to join us (on however many wheels it may be!), please would you let us know – just so that we have an idea of numbers to ensure there is sufficient cake! (The Stag is not usually open for tea & cake so it will be laid on especially for us).
Leaving the Rose & Crown at 10am.
Velos Rides for Sunday 3rd January 2016
It is looking to be a damp one so there isn’t an organised 9am start, but we do have some nice, short, easy ones at 10am if you want to get back in to the swing of things gently after some time off the bike.
If the outlook changes and you still want a big mileage ride, Mark is asserting that he will be at the R&C for 9am, even if it is just to do loops round the block till the 10am rides start.
As always, please do bring your chosen route with you either on (waterproof) paper or your electronic GPS gadget.
Tea Ride apology
Tomorrow’s weather looks grim and Sally and Elke are both busy doing other things so there will not be a ride leader for tomorrow. Any hardy people who wish to arrange and meet for a ride tomorrow should carry on, use the rear hub page on Facebook. Otherwise look out for a special birthday tea ride happening next week – put it in your diaries! Happy New Year!
