It’s getting a little “Frozen”…

Sally:
Elka?
(Knocking: Knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, knock)
Do you wanna build a snowman?
Come on lets go and play
I never see you anymore
Come out the door
It’s like you’ve gone away-
We used to be best buddies
And now we’re not
I wish you would tell me why!-
Do you wanna build a snowman?
It doesn’t have to be a snowman.

(Knocking)
Do you wanna build a snowman?
Or ride our bikes around the halls
I think some company is overdue
I’ve started talking to
the pictures on the walls-
(Hang in there, Joan!)
It gets a little lonely
All these empty lanes,

Do you wanna come for a bike ride…?  10am from the Rose & Crown, EVERY Saturday….

Thanks Abigail…..

It’s a wee bit damp and windy out there this weekend so wellies & waterproofs for a ride tomorrow!

Sadly, Sally & Elke have other commitments and it’s looking unlikely that they’ll be out to play – but don’t that let stop the rest of you!

(Wo)man up and get out there!  Leaving the Rose & Crown, Ivinghoe, at 10am.

Remember, remember….

The 7th of November,
Cup & saucer or mug & teapot.
I know of no reason
Why Tea Riding season
Should ever be forgot.

For the record, Tea Riding season is all year round, regardless of the weather.  (And whether or not there is a Tea Ride post!)

Leaving the Rose & Crown, weekly, at 10am on Saturdays.

Be there … or be a damp squib.

I’ve got a bike…

You can ride it if you like.
It’s got a basket, a bell that rings and
Things to make it look good.
I’d give it to you if I could, but I borrowed it.
You’re the kind of girl that fits in with my world.
I’ll give you anything, ev’rything if you want things.
I’ve got a cloak. It’s a bit of a joke.
There’s a tear up the front. It’s red and black.
I’ve had it for months.
If you think it could look good, then I guess it should.
You’re the kind of girl that fits in with my world.
I’ll give you anything, ev’rything if you want things.
I know a mouse, and he hasn’t got a house.
I don’t know why. I call him Gerald.
He’s getting rather old, but he’s a good mouse.
You’re the kind of girl that fits in with my world.
I’ll give you anything, ev’rything if you want things.
I’ve got a clan of gingerbread men.
Here a man, there a man, lots of gingerbread men.
Take a couple if you wish. They’re on the dish.
You’re the kind of girl that fits in with my world.
I’ll give you anything, ev’rything if you want things.
I know a room of musical tunes.
Some rhyme, some ching. Most of them are clockwork.
Let’s go into the other room and make them work.

Nothing like a bit of Pink Floyd on a Friday evening to get you in the mood……

FOR THE TEA RIDE … or course……

Leaving the Rose & Crown, Ivinghoe, 10am EVERY Saturday, come rain, shine, snow, hail, hell or high water (although you might want to bring wellies that day), whether there’s a website/facebook post or not (sorry… sometimes we’re not quite as organised as we appear to be …)

Oh! And it ain’t all girls – not by a long chalk!!

As fast as the slowest rider, always stopping for tea & cake.       #prioritiessorted

When I wake up in the morning, love

bicycle-typogram
* “you”, whatever shape & size you may be ……

And the sunlight hurts my eyes
And something without warning, love
Bears heavy on my mind

Then I look at you*
And the world’s alright with me
Just one look at you
And I know it’s gonna be
A lovely ride
… lovely ride, lovely ride, lovely ride …

When the ride that lies ahead of me
Seems impossible to face
When someone else instead of me
Always seems to know the way**

**We always know the way.  To tea and cake.  No upwards incline (we never use the word hill!) is impossible for the Tea Ride – they’re carefully selected to be Tea Ride friendly.

As fast as the slowest rider, leaving the Rose & Crown at 10am, EVERY Saturday.

MUD ON A MONDAY
For those wanting a taster of something a little different …. 7pm from Pitstone roundabout (the one by the cricket green)…. the Tea Ride goes a little off-road… roads & tracks – bridle paths, canal paths and a bit of roadwork.  Absolutely for the beginner or faint hearted… mountain bikes, hybrids, cyclocross, BMX’s all welcome – not one for the road bike!

Further details will be posted on the Rear Hub on Facebook ….

It may be a wee bit damp out there….

but the Tea Ride will still be happening!

It is the annual Ride & Stride this weekend but, owing to the absence of our illustrious Churches Ride Leader (& the forecast), we haven’t put a route together an official Tea Ride route this year.  If however, you would like to take part, here is the list of Participating Churches.  Further info and sponsorship forms can be found on the Bike & Hike website.

For those wanting something a little more “ordinary” – if ever the Tea Ride can be called ordinary… over to your imaginations on that one….. there will be a conventional Tea Ride departing the Rose & Crown, Ivinghoe at 10am.

As fast as the slowest rider.  Conventional.  Never “normal”.

As always….

tomorrow is Saturday and there is a Tea Ride…

10am at the Rose & Crown, Ivinghoe ….

As fast as the slowest rider…. several groups to suit all abilities & bikes….

Give it a go – you’ve got nothing better to do than join us for some good humour and a tour of the local countryside 🙂

Annual Pimms Pilgrimage Tea Ride

It’s that time of year AGAIN! (sorry!)
The Annual Pilgrimage to Ashridge to hunt down the S-max full of Pimms & Cake.

Two routes to choose from …. slow and steady, via Dudswell and New Road or slightly faster via Slapton & Dagnall….  Feel free to swap groups after the stop should you feel inclined.

If you’re planning on coming, it would be great if you could let us know so that we can ensure there’s enough cycling sustenance ….. (thus the early post!)

Both groups leave the Rose & Crown at 10am on Saturday… returning at lunchtime for further refreshments as required.

Where can you….

… find pleasure?
Search the world for treasure?
Learn science technology
Where can you begin to make your dreams all come true
Around the lanes, you will see
Where can you learn to fly
Learn about bikes and how to ride
Study cycle-ology
Sign up for the big band
Or sit in the grandstand
When your team and others meet

On the Tea Ride
Yes, you can sail between the trees
On the Tea Ride
Yes, you can put your mind at ease
On the Tea Ride
Come on now, people, make a stand
On the Tea Ride,On the Tea Ride
Can’t you see we need a hand
On the Tea Ride
Come on, protect the mother land
On the Tea Ride
Come on and join your fellow man
On the Tea Ride
Come on people, and make a stand
On the Tea Ride, On the Tea Ride, On the Tea Ride, On the Tea Ride

On the Tea Ride.  Diverse walks of life and makes of bikes.  We’ve got a wide range covered but there’s always room for more!

Every Saturday, leaving the Rose and Crown at 10am.  At least 2 groups of riders, each going as fast as the slowest rider in that group.  All heading for tea and cake and the pub at the end…..
