The Historic Churches Ride and Stride Sat Sept 8th

The Historic Churches Ride and Stride is on Sat Sept 8th. Mary is happy to plan a route if anyone is interested and to get sponsor forms (half of the money raised goes to the Church of your choice and the rest to the Historic Churches Trust.) Perhaps those interested could let me or Mary know. We’ll leave from Ivinghoe Church at 10.00am and possibly head for the hills!

  1. Hi,

was given your website from a member on cycling buddies, is the ride on Saturday open to anybody as I would like to tag along
curious about which bike would be most suitable, will you all be on road bikes or is my hybrid OK.

    thanks

    1. Hi Iona,

The ride on Saturday is different to what we usually do as we are taking part in the churches ‘Ride and Stride’ event. Usually we ride for about 2 hours including a tea stop (about 15 miles), and finish at the Rose and Crown for further refreshment. This Saturday the ride will maybe take 3 hours or more as we plan to stop at a few churches doing teas, but will be the usual leisurely pace. There will be an option of shortening the ride to about 2 hours.

You are very welcome to join us, new riders are always welcome. A hybrid bicycle will be fine, whatever you are more comfortable with. The Saturday ride usually has quite a mixture of bicycles, the Sunday ride is far more road bike orientated. One change from my post, we will be meeting at the Rose and Crown at 10am as usual, not the church. Hope to see you there.

      Sally
